Honey! Honey! Honey!

img_73601

Today I’m writing all about that sweet gooey golden goodness that we all have in our kitchen, and the little buzzing friends that make it. I never realized just how much bees do for our environment! In past years, I heard that bees were dying and that it would have a great impact on us, but never truly understood why. Well, I was researching about honey and found out a lot about bees.

img_73561

Bees are vital to sooooo many crops around the world and plants that we grow in our yards. Apples, Avocadoes, Oranges, Pumpkins, Onions, Almonds, coffee, cotton, alfalfa, etc (Fox News). Bees are helpful to “30% of the world’s food crops and 90% of wild plants [that] grow” (The Ecology Center). These little creatures do so much more than I ever thought that they did. They help pollinate your food, AND they help pollinate most of the beautiful things in your yard and neighborhood. They also help livestock by pollinating the wild plants that they eat (New AG) Crazy!

img_73511-2

In researching why bees are dying, it seemed that there is no one reason why this is happening. The main culprits look to be neonicotinoid pesticides/ insecticides, Colony Collapse Disorder, parasites and mites, and changes in habitat. Neonicotinoids are agricultural insecticides that resemble nicotine; they are water-soluble and can be absorbed into plants and the soil (which the bees are exposed to). “Although these low level exposures do not normally kill bees directly, they may impact some bees’ ability to foraging for nectar, learn and remember where flowers are located, and possibly impair their ability to find their way home to nest or hive” (Texas A&M). Colony Collapse Disorder is when the majority of worker bees disappear, but the queen, food, and nurse bees are left. This is said to reduce the bee hive population by 30% every winter (EPA). Parasites and mites are apparently becoming more and more of a problem. Some mites can drain body fluids and weaken the immune system of the bees, they also leave bees vulnerable to viruses through an open wound they leave (Reveal News). However, if you treat your hives the miticides can build up in your beeswax. Lastly, habitat change of farming, lack of wildflowers, and drought are all affecting the lives and health of bee hives (Reveal News).

Now about the golden goodness that these little guys produce! Honey is such a great natural sweetener. According to organicfacts.net, honey is 69% glucose and fructose which makes it easily digested into usable energy by our bodies. They also say that honey is naturally full of vitamins and minerals such as: Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, and much much more. Another great benefit is that it is full of antioxidants and it also has antibacterial properties (Organic Facts).

When I have heard about honey and what is healthiest for you, I have heard “organic raw” is healthiest. So I decided to research what that meant. Organic honey means that the hives are not contaminated with pesticides and insecticides, also that these buzzing little guys have not been treated with antibiotics (Organic Facts). I thought that if you had a hive and your yard was pesticide and insecticide free, that your honey would be organic. I was totally wrong. The plants within about a 4 mile radius of the hive are all accessible to the bees. So all those plants would have to be untreated to be able to say honey is organic (Scientific American). Raw honey means that you haven’t filtered or heated it. There is an initial filtering to extract the honey from the comb but that is it.

I want to say congratulations to my in-laws for getting a second place ribbon at the Washington State Fair for their honey! 🙂 They have hives in their backyard and create such a great environment for the bees. Their plants are never treated with pesticides or insecticides. I cannot say their honey is organic because the bees could pollinate plants off of their property, but their honey is raw. They do not heat their honey at all, and is minimally filtered. This honey tastes AMAZING! It tastes different than any honey I have bought at a store, and I would honestly describe it as “more wild”. It is thick and has a rich honey flavor. I would definitely recommend for anyone to support local bee keepers and look for organic raw wildflower honey. So so yummy!

JORD Wood Watch Review

20160919_135847-1

So excited to share with you all about the JORD wood watches! I received the Cora Series Zebrawood and Turquoise wood watch, and am in love! It looks and feels amazing!

screenshot_2016-09-19-13-27-53

The first thing that I was happy with was that JORD uses furniture remnants and trees that have come down due to natural causes for their watches! By using furniture remnants, they are keeping more waste out of landfills. I also love that they do not just tear down trees, the trees come down due to weather. They only need a small amount of wood to make a watch, so tearing down trees is not needed. So important that fashion is sustainable and good for the environment!

When i was looking at watches, I was worried that they would be super heavy and bulky. When my watch arrived and I tried it on, i was surprised at how light it was! This is a watch that I could definitely wear everyday and it would not get in the way of my mom duties. The watch is able to be worn for washing a dish really quick, but if I were doing a sink full of dishes (we don’t have a dishwasher)  and dealing with large amounts of water I would take it off.  I do the same thing for my wedding ring, so that is not a big deal to me.

img_20160914_095134

I love the turquoise color of my watch! My wardrobe pretty much only consists of black, grey, and white. This watch allows me to add a pop of color in a fun and stylish way! I feel like every wood watch is unique, and they are such an eye catching accessory. So excited to style my fall outfits and incorporate this watch.

Wedding on a Budget!

Sterling and Marissa Wedding Thumbnail (677 of 1156)

Every wedding has a budget. Some people have lots of money saved up and others don’t. For Sterling and I, we were not swimming in cash when we got married. We had just finished an internship with our church, and did not have the cash saved up to throw a huge traditional wedding (we wouldn’t have wanted that anyway). During the planning process I had to get creative, while not settling on what we pictured for our special day. Here’s how we had our perfect wedding on a budget!

Sterling and Marissa Wedding Thumbnail (434 of 1156)

I am a “Say Yes to the Dress” fanatic! So for me, of course the dress was a super important part of the wedding. I had seen a dress that a childhood friend wore at her wedding and fell in love with it! I went and tried it on (very important, because what you love may not be what looks good on), and it looked great! The dress, alterations, and a veil would have been close to $2,500 if I bought it from the boutique I visited. Now because I am not a person who could pay that much for a dress I’m going to wear once, I started searching discount dress websites to find my dress for less. We found it for half of the boutique cost! It was a bigger size, but close enough that I could have it altered to fit perfectly. The veil was another thing I saved money on. A new veil from the boutique was $200-$400. I couldn’t pay that, even though they were gorgeous. My mother-in-law helped by making one. The veil mesh material cost probably $3 for a yard, which we then cut to the right shape, and pinned into place with bobby pins and a tiara ($20). All together, for dress and veil we paid half of what it would have cost from the boutique.

Venue is a huge part of a wedding! Everyone loves something different. For Sterling and I we wanted to have a summer wedding outdoors. How we saved money on the venue was choosing to have it at one of the campuses of our church. Sterling worked for the church, so he got a discount. The courtyard of our intern campus was perfect! We were one of 2 couples ever to use the courtyard for a wedding. Since it was a church, there were rules that we had to follow (no alcohol, no sit down dinner, no dancing, etc.). That’s where our personal quirks helped out too. Sterling does not like dancing and we don’t drink alcohol a lot; so we were able to make the venue work for how we wanted our ceremony to go! Now I understand not everyone works for a church and gets a discount, but being creative on the location and style of ceremony can help with your budget.

Sterling and Marissa Wedding Thumbnail (315 of 1156)

For the guys, we added some unique touches to the outfit. We are not suit or tux kind of people and the one thing Sterling wanted was custom Converse. The guys outfit cost about $120 which included the white button down shirt, wax coated skinny jeans, bowtie, and Converse shoes. One thing I am thankful for now is letting Sterling have his say on what the guys wore, because it made our wedding that much more US. This outfit was perfect! And every anniversary, Sterling wears his custom Converse when we go out!

Sterling and Marissa Wedding Thumbnail (160 of 1156)

Another way I saved money was not decorating with flowers! These bouquets are literally the only flowers we bought. Daisies are my favorite flowers (also one of the cheapest) and we only bought them for bouquets. Flowers totaled $60 from the flower warehouses in Seattle. Because our venue was had trees and plants already we did not need to add more flowers to it. We spent money on bulb lights for the trees, waterproof votive lights for the fountain, and goldfish to put in the fountain pond.

IMG_2376

At our wedding, we did not do a sit down dinner (HUGE MONEY SAVER). We served hors d’oeuvres and then had fire pits (supervised) and roasting stations for s’mores. We loved having this unique touch at our wedding! Some of our favorite things as a couple is stargazing and s’mores, and we were able to have both at our wedding. For the s’mores we bought gourmet marshmallows in bulk, chocolate in bulk, and built the boxes by hand to store everything. We took an afternoon to put together boxes and it was super easy. Measure, cut, nail together, and stain. To this day we still use these boxes as planters. They are on our deck currently.

Sterling and Marissa Wedding Thumbnail (920 of 1156)

When planning a wedding, I cannot stress enough how important it is to be creative! A wedding is a celebration of two people coming together as one, so make it unique to you as a couple! That could mean a traditional wedding or one completely out of the box. Do what you want on your big day! Have fun, be patient, and stick to the budget (you don’t want to start marriage in debt).

What things did you do to save money on your big day?

Glowing Beets Box- December

20160522_144702

I’ve taken a few months to post about the products in the Glowing Beets subscription box that I receive every month. I wanted to make sure I test and use each product, so that I am only blogging about/promoting products that I would personally use. I am not affiliated with or compensated by anyone, so I will keep it 100% real with you all! So far I have loved absolutely every box! I encourage anyone who wants to test out some green beauty/green living products to check out this subscription box! Glowingbeets.com

The December box was my first box. This box included a “Sally B’s Skin Yummies, Healing Hand Butter in Lavender Vanilla”, “Sweet Emotions Soaptions & Potions, Pumpkin Facial Mask”, “Sally B’s Skin Yummies, B Glossy Lip Gloss in Soft Kiss”, “Grateful Naturals, Pure Botanical Lip Balm in Vanilla Honesuckle”, “Mullen & Sparrow, Immortelle & Myrrh”, “Little Barn Apothecary, Body Oil in Honeysuckle+Grapefruit”, and lastly “Zabana Essentials, Facial Steamer in Herbaceous”.

Healing Hand Butter

20160520_162305

This hand butter by Sally B’s Skin Yummies smells AMAZING! I love the lavender and vanilla scent that came in this box! The hand butter does such a great job at moisturizing my hands. Since I use the restroom so often and I’m a mom, I am constantly washing my hands. My hands get super dried out, but this really helps keep my skin smooth and hydrated. According to Skin Deep by EWG, this product is rated a 3 (on a 1-10 scale, 1 being the best for you) and contains a couple of ingredients that may be irritating or toxic. I personally really like this hand butter and will continue to use it!

Pumpkin Facial Mask

20160520_162644

I had never tried a face mask prior to this one, but I loved it! This face mask from “Sweet Emotions Soaptions & Potions” is seasonal I believe and smells like pumpkin pie. Love love love the smell! This left my skin so soft and moisturized. I never knew that pumpkin was so good for your skin, but it has alpha hydroxy acids (smoothes & helps cell turnover) and a bunch of vitamins that can help with anti-aging. This mask is not on the Skin Deep by EWG website so there is no rating currently. There are only 7 ingredients and they are organic.

B Glossy Lip Gloss

20160520_151252

Love love love this lip gloss! Such a soft, shimmery color which is what I like. I received this product because another had been sold out before I signed up for my Glowing Beets subscription. So glad I got to try it! Once again, I have to mention the smell of this product. It is so pepperminty (is that a word?)! I love the smell of peppermint so definitely a plus for me. When you apply it, it also tingles your lips a little bit from the mint. This lip gloss is rated a 2 by Skin Deep by EWG. It is also “EWG Verified” which means they have gone through extra steps to show their product meets strict health standards. This lip gloss gets two thumbs up from me!

Grateful Naturals Lip Balm

20160520_154431

This tiny little tube of lip balm packs a punch. Love that the lip balm makes my lips feel moisturized and soft. I also am a Vanilla addict, so I LOVE the smell of this product! This is just a really good lip balm to carry around with you or keep in your purse! It is not rated on Skin Deep by EWG, but it has 6 ingredients and they are all natural.

Immortelle & Myrrh

20160520_162624

This serum is full of nourishing oils for your skin! Seriously, this little bottle of goodness increases cell regeneration, smoothes, moisturizes, and has anti-aging benefits. It is not super oily, and I actually found that I like mixing it with moisturizer so it spreads on the skin better. The only thing I did not like so much with this product was the smell. I personally like a more fresh or fruity scent. This product has a combination of musk and floral to me, so it’s not my favorite. This product is not rated on Skin Deep by EWG.

Honeysuckle + Grapefruit Body Oil

20160522_132557

I love love love this body oil! This oil has anti-aging benefits, and it smoothes and moisturizes! It does not leave me feeling super greasy and absorbs right into my skin. I put this on my whole body, including my face (not sure if you are “supposed” to do that, but I do). The scent is the perfect balance of floral and fruity, and kinda gives me summer vibes. I love things that remind me of summer! So far this has been my favorite body oil that I have tried! This is not rated on Skin Deep by EWG.

Herbaceous Facial Steamer

20160522_144726

This facial steamer felt like I stepped into a spa with it’s herb scent! This product allows you a few minutes to just sit and relax, while it steams and clears out all the pores in your face. You and your face will feel refreshed after this for sure. Love this facial steamer!

For details on each product you can click the names, and it will take you to the product page. Also, below are some resources I used along with the product pages.

Homemade Bread

IMG_20160430_143542

My family has been searching for a less expensive bread option that is still gluten free and dairy free. Loaves of gluten and dairy free bread can be $8-10 a loaf, so we definitely wanted to limit that expense. We love our breakfast sandwiches and toast though so I had to try something different. Today, i tried making homemade bread for the first time! It was a success! Here is the a link to the recipe I followed (I personally love to follow recipes, not wing it in the kitchen).

The First Year

Screenshot_2015-11-25-16-12-36 photo by Brittany Copenhaver

Having a child changes your life in so many ways! Some changes are amazing, but others are the most challenging things you will ever face. I’m a normal mom just like you and am constantly learning how to be the best I can be in this new season. In this blog post I wanted to share some of the things I have learned from the first year since having my son.

  • Enjoy the “lil things”!

Mom life isn’t always glamorous. You get thrown up on, blown out on, are exhausted and run on coffee, BUT nothing beats the little smile and the love that your little one gives you. Stay positive mama, and enjoy all the small moments of each “first”, take every cuddle your little one gives you, and shower your baby with unconditional love!

  • Everyone Has An Opinion

There is value in taking advice from people around you. However, when I got pregnant and after having my son, I was overwhelmed with people telling me “to do this and do that”. Everywhere I turned someone was telling me their opinions on how to raise my son. Whether that was breastfeeding, vaccinations, everyday activities, sleep training, etc. Do what YOU feel is best for your baby! I honestly thought I wouldn’t know a thing about taking care of a baby, but I was surprised that I naturally knew what to do. You’ve got this! You were made for this! And if you ever have questions, ask someone you trust.

  • Every Child Is Different

It is so easy as a mom to say “my friends baby was doing this by such and such an age, why isn’t my child doing that [?]”. Or “your child is so calm and well-behaved, I have a rebellious little one”. Do not compare your child to another little one! Instead, recognize that every child is different and grows/develops at their own pace, in their own unique way. Hang in there, your child will sleep through the night, gain weight, get teeth, start walking, start talking, and learn what “no” means. It will be at his or hers own pace.

  • Life Really Does Change

Having a baby changes your schedule and activities (an obvious one, I know). Going into motherhood, I don’t think I grasped just how much everything would change. We were late to everything or missed activities completely because our schedule revolved around eating and sleeping times. We struggled getting date nights because we didn’t want to leave our son, I started having health problems, and we were just exhausted. I also started feeling lonely because I wasn’t a social butterfly anymore. Give yourself time to adjust! Just like when people get married and are learning to live with your spouse, this season of parenthood is learning to live with and care for your sweet little one. It takes time to adjust and work through different emotions. Embrace the change, it is just a season. Family is the most important thing.

These are just a couple of things that I learned through pregnancy and year one. Just want to encourage all the mamas reading to enjoy this season and keep positive! You can do this! What are some things you have learned through pregnancy, the first year of being a mom, or the many years of motherhood? Thanks so much for reading!

Honest Company Review

20160404_170238

Since having my baby boy, we have tried a lot of different soaps, lotions, and ointments. Our favorite so far has been the “Honest Company” products! It is a company that I felt more comfortable with as far as ingredients, and it is super easy to pick up because it is available at stores like Target.

When the whole Johnson & Johnson lawsuit thing happened, I set out to research each ingredient in the products that I put on my son from The Honest Company. All the research and data I based my opinions on were from “Skin Deep by the Environmental Working Group (EWG)”. I looked up each ingredient individually and also have included in this post the overall rating that EWG gave each product, www.ewg.org/skindeep. I am not a chemist or doctor, so this is completely my own opinion based on personal research.

Honest Shampoo & Body Wash

20160404_170250 20160404_170359

This wash has helped my son’s skin so much! Other soaps were drying out his skin so bad. Pretty much immediately my husband and I saw a difference in the way his skin looked. We use the “Perfectly Gentle” scent that is sweet orange and vanilla. I am a vanilla addict, so I absolutely love the scent! The one not so great thing is that I used it on my hair, and it ended up making my hair really dry. For my son and as a body wash it works great though!

When looking up the ingredients, there were a couple that came up as “possible toxins”(not enough data to prove or disprove). Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice may be a developmental toxin. Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride may be a toxin to organs.

This wash is rated 1 by Skin Deep by EWG.

Honest Face & Body Lotion

20160404_17041720160404_170434

This unscented lotion, “Perfectly Simple”, has worked so well on my son and even on me. It does not contain apple which is an allergy I have, so I love that I can use it too! The lotion is not greasy when you apply it, it absorbs really well.

“Possible Toxins”: Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice may be a developmental toxin, and Glyceryl Stearate has low concern of being an environmental toxin.

This lotion is rated 1 by Skin Deep by EWG.

Honest Healing Balm

20160404_17044720160404_170506

This balm has been AMAZING! At 10 months old my son all of the sudden had what we thought was eczema patches all over his body. With me wanting to switch all of our products to green options, I did not want to use Hydrocortisone cream on the eczema so I started applying this balm. It helped keep his skin moisturized so well and clears up the patches pretty quick. We are now thinking that the dry skin patches may be related to a gluten reaction, but that’s a different topic. We love this balm though!

“Possible Toxins”: Tocopherol at high doses may be linked to tumor formation.

This balm is rated 1 by Skin Deep by EWG.

These are the items that I use on my son, but soon will dish on other Honest products that I have tried around the house! To check out the company and the ingredients in each product visit www.honest.com. Thanks so much for reading this post 🙂 don’t forget to sign up for email updates when I release new blog posts!

Diet Treatment

20160222_110152 copy

Since 2008 I have been struggling with some health issues. Sleep has been sparse, digestive issues, constant nausea, and fatigue have been present, and I have had a long struggle with Overactive Bladder. I have gotten to the point where I don’t really leave the house due to the Overactive Bladder. I have seen a urologist a couple times since 2008, but none of the treatment ever really made a difference. I started seeing the urologist again in August 2015, and 7 medications and many appointments later nothing has improved. I also felt very pressured to do Botox treatment, which I personally didn’t feel comfortable with (no judgement if you decided to do Botox treatment).  Two and a half weeks ago I took the plunge to see a Naturopath. After talking with him, I felt so confident that he could help me get better using natural methods.  I am 2 weeks into my strict diet treatment and a week into my supplement treatment.

Eating healthy is one of the most important things for your health. Although, healthy is completely different for each person. My list of healthy foods is different than someone who does not struggle with OAB. The first thing that my Doctor wanted me to do was change my diet completely! So now i am Gluten, most dairy, alcohol, caffeine, and acidic food free! Although the list is long of what I cannot eat, I have been enjoying experimenting with different recipes and ingredients that are healthy for me to eat.

My hubby has been posting all his favorites of my meal experiments on Instagram. So I decided to share some of what I have been making with you all!

Bagel and Scrambled Eggs

IMG_20160209_114512 copy

I am a huge breakfast fan! So this plate is an Udi’s Gluten Free/Dairy Free Bagel with Daiya Cream Cheese Spread. Then there is 2 eggs (scrambled) with organic chicken sausage (diced) and Daiya Cheddar Cheese. This is the Gluten free, Dairy free version of what I previously ate every morning. However, when buying the bagels you would get 4 in a pack and they were more than double the cost of regular bagels. I have since, given up my bagels and am trying other options for breakfast!

Spinach and Sausage Omelet with Diced Sweet Potatoes

20160220_103348 copy

Omelet:

-2 eggs, scrambled

-organic chicken sausage, diced

-handful of organic spinach, sliced into strips

-Daiya Cheddar Cheese

Sweet Potatoes:

-1/2 large sweet potato, diced

-1/4 teaspoon salt

-1/2 teaspoon black pepper

-1/4 teaspoon paprika

Basil Sweet Potato Scramble

20160221_111343 copy

-2 eggs, scrambled

-1/2 large sweet potato, diced

-1/2 organic chicken sausage, diced

-handful of organic spinach, cut into strips

-1/4 teaspoon salt

-1/4 teaspoon black pepper

-1/2 teaspoon fresh Basil

-pinch of Daiya Cheddar Cheese

Breakfast Sandwich

20160223_094012 copy

I made the breakfast sandwiches from “Against All Grain: Meals Made Simple”. I messed up on them but they still turned out yummy! There was a small mixup on my part when cooking the sausage, so I had to improvise and mix the sausage in the scrambled eggs. In the original recipe there would actually be a sausage patty and eggs separate. I’ll read more carefully next time haha! But I strongly encourage you pick up a copy of Danielle Walker’s cookbooks or visit againstallgrain.com to get some amazing recipes!

Even though changing your diet may seem scary, it is so worth it to jump in and do it! I can honestly say that I feel a lot better with some of my health issues. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!

My Deodorant Switch

20150830_140241

One of the first things that my family switched to in order to lessen our chemical exposure was deodorant. Conventional deodorant can be chocked full of harmful chemicals! I am not a doctor, so my decision was based on research I have personally done on the topic. This blog post will go through why I made the switch from conventional deodorants, that you can buy anywhere, to organic options.

Everyone has their own opinion and this blog is outlining the reasons why I personally switched the products that I use on my body. Sterling and I had watched a documentary that mentioned the toxicity of deodorant, so that made me look at the ingredients on the deodorant that I used. The deodorant that I was using, prior to switching to a homemade deodorant, had some very harmful chemicals in it. The first ingredient was “Aluminum Zirconium” which (through research I did on the internet) has been linked to kidney and nerve damage and over time linked to breast cancer and Alzheimer’s disease. That alone was enough to make me want to switch deodorants. If you continue to look at your deodorant’s ingredients, you may find more harmful substances. Due to my deodorant containing aluminum zirconium and artificial fragrance, I switched to making my own deoderant.

When researching how to make my own deodorant, I discovered many recipes with baking soda and without. I found that baking soda can actually cause irritation on certain people. I tried a recipe that did contain baking soda and did not have a reaction to it. After trying other organic deodorants, there were no negative reactions. Personally, I like that I can pronounce every ingredient in my deodorant and that it is all natural and organic. I would much rather put coconut oil and essential oils on the delicate skin of the underarm than a form of aluminum.

I have heard from friends that “natural deodorant does not work”. I understand there is a frustration that comes with trying multiple natural products to find one that works for you, but the peace that comes with knowing I’m not putting harmful chemicals on my body out weighs that for me personally. The first natural thing I tried worked great for me though, it was a homemade coconut oil deodorant with essential oils.

I will give you all the recipe that I used to create my homemade deodorant on my next blog post. I encourage you to look at the products you are using to see if they could be harming you. I want you all to be happy and healthy!

You are Beautiful!

This week I wanted to talk about something that has been on my mind and my heart. It’s not a DIY, and not about creativity. This topic is about encouragement and building you up. Just know while you are reading this that I am not “anti make up”. I love getting dolled up and wearing make up, but make up and the insecurity behind it was something I had to overcome personally.

20160121_102422-1

As an 18 year old headed off to college, I was super excited to achieve a dream of mine which was playing college softball! Along with the excitement came nervousness, of leaving home, and insecurity. I was about to begin the hardest and most challenging time in my life.

“Never let anyone see you without make up on.”

“Wear your make up, even to weights, or you will never get a guy.”

These were things I heard as a 18 year old athlete. So guess what I did? I never went ANYWHERE without make up on. I even wore make up into the shower and put it on before I left the shower room. I was so insecure and literally could not say that I was beautiful. I believed that I was ugly and would never be loved.

Fast forward almost 2 years, I wanted to figure out who I was as a person, and overcome this huge insecurity! I decided to go without make up for one week. Yeah that’s right, ONE WEEK! Absolutely zero make up. I was so nervous to have my friends see me without make up, and of course was worried about what guys thought. By the end of the week, my friends were still my friends. And I never got any horrible comments from other students. For the first time, I didn’t feel like I NEEDED make up.

All that to say, whether you are a teenage girl like I was or you are a mom like I am now, you do not NEED make up to be beautiful! YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL just the way God made you! It has been on my heart to share that because our society is so focused on social media and perfection. The amount of followers, number of likes, your ability to take the perfect selfie, or how perfectly contoured your face is, does not define who you are. You don’t have to fit a mold or look exactly like every other woman to be beautiful. Just be the real you, the beautiful, strong, weird, unique woman that God made you to be!
